The Planning Portal has begun live trials of an open-source digital planning submission stack built on the Open Digital Planning project's BOPS and PlanX tools, ahead of the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities deadline for standardised ePlanning APIs. Buckinghamshire Council and Southwark London Borough are among the local planning authorities participating in the pilot. Developers say the stack reduces validation processing time by up to 40 percent compared to incumbent proprietary systems.
