Bristol City Council has gone live with a self-hosted Nextcloud instance to manage internal document collaboration across its 6,000-strong workforce, ending a decade-long dependency on Microsoft SharePoint. The project was delivered in partnership with local digital consultancy Coop Digital and forms part of the council's wider Open Digital Strategy. Council officers say the move aligns with commitments to digital sovereignty and reduced vendor lock-in.
