Southwark Council is piloting an open source planning application portal developed on the DLUHC-backed PlanX framework, aiming to streamline householder planning submissions. The trial, running alongside the council's existing Idox system, will assess whether the open platform can reduce processing times for permitted development requests. Results are expected to inform a wider rollout across London boroughs later in 2025.
