The OpenStreetMap Foundation has announced a formal data-sharing agreement with Ordnance Survey to improve the accuracy of public rights of way in rural England and Wales. The pilot scheme will see OS share verified footpath corrections with OSM contributors under an open licence. Natural England has expressed support for the initiative, noting it could benefit countryside access planning and biodiversity net gain assessments.
