The open source IfcOpenShell project has released version 0.8.0 with full read-write support for the IFC4x3 schema, enabling BIM workflows for rail and linear infrastructure for the first time. Network Rail and Arup are cited in the release notes as contributors to the validation test suite. The update is expected to accelerate adoption of open BIM formats across major UK infrastructure programmes, including projects under the Integrated Rail Programme.
