Mid Devon District Council has gone live with a self-hosted Nextcloud instance to manage planning application documents and internal team collaboration, replacing a Microsoft SharePoint Online subscription. The deployment, handled by Bristol-based open source integrator Kolab Systems UK, includes end-to-end encrypted file sharing for sensitive planning correspondence. The council expects to recover implementation costs within eighteen months through reduced SaaS licence expenditure.
