Leeds City Council has reported savings of over £400,000 in its first full financial year following the deployment of a self-hosted Nextcloud instance to replace OneDrive and SharePoint for internal document collaboration. The council worked with local digital consultancy Squarewave to configure the platform with Active Directory integration and full UK data residency. The case study is being shared across the LGA's digital network as evidence for open source viability at scale in local government.
