The Environment Agency has published a new open source flood risk visualisation toolkit that combines OpenStreetMap building footprints with national flood modelling datasets, made available under an MIT licence on GitHub. The tool, built using Leaflet.js and Python, is designed for use by local authority emergency planning and development management teams. Surrey County Council and North Yorkshire Council are among the first to integrate it into their planning support workflows.
