The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has updated its Digital Planning Programme procurement guidance to require that all funded planning software tools support open standards including GeoJSON, INSPIRE and the Planning Data Platform API. The guidance, which applies to PropTech Innovation Fund recipients, explicitly encourages open source licensing and references RIPA and Back-Office Planning System as compliant reference implementations.
