The open source BlenderBIM add-on, developed by the IfcOpenShell community, has reached version 0.8 and is attracting growing adoption among small and mid-sized UK architectural practices seeking alternatives to Autodesk Revit. Firms including Haworth Tompkins and Civic Engineers have trialled the toolset for IFC-based design workflows. The release adds improved structural analysis export and enhanced clash detection capabilities compatible with OpenCDE platforms.
