National Highways has launched a pilot inspection management tool built on OpenStreetMap and PostGIS, developed in collaboration with Arup and the open source consultancy Addresscloud. The system replaces a proprietary GIS platform for roadside asset logging across the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon corridor. If the pilot proves successful, a wider rollout covering all strategic road network zones is planned for 2025.
