Gloucestershire County Council has completed a migration of its highways asset management system to a stack built on PostGIS and OpenLayers, replacing a legacy proprietary platform that had been in use since 2011. The switch is expected to save the council approximately £180,000 per year in licensing costs. The project was delivered by UK open source consultancy Astun Technology over an 18-month implementation period.
