OpenStreetMap Data Powers New Permitted Development Rights Checker Tool

/

Planning consultancy Iceni Projects, working with developer PlanX, has launched a public-facing permitted development rights checking tool that draws on OpenStreetMap building footprints and Ordnance Survey Open Zoomstack for its base mapping layer. The tool, currently live for the London Borough of Southwark as a pilot, allows homeowners to assess whether proposed extensions require full planning permission. DLUHC has indicated interest in scaling the approach through the Planning Data platform if the pilot proves successful.
