Homes England has completed a migration from Esri ArcGIS to QGIS 3.36 across its spatial planning teams, citing significant annual licensing cost reductions. The move, supported by OSGeo:UK and Astun Technology, enables the agency to publish land availability datasets as open data via GeoServer. Homes England says the transition took eight months and involved retraining over 60 GIS analysts.
