West Yorkshire Combined Authority Adopts OpenStreetMap Data for Transport Planning

/

West Yorkshire Combined Authority has confirmed it will use OpenStreetMap as a primary base layer for its new integrated transport modelling platform, replacing a long-standing Esri data contract. The decision follows a pilot conducted with the University of Leeds that demonstrated cost savings of approximately £180,000 annually. The authority will contribute local transport network corrections back to the OSM community under a formal data stewardship agreement.
