Buckinghamshire Council has completed a phased migration away from Microsoft 365 for core document management and internal collaboration, deploying Nextcloud Hub and LibreOffice across approximately 4,200 staff desktops. The move, delivered in partnership with Collabora Online, is projected to save the authority £1.2 million over five years in licensing costs. Council officials cited digital sovereignty and reduced vendor lock-in as key drivers alongside cost savings.
