Lichfield District Council Pilots Open Source Digital Planning System Built on DLUHC Stack

/

Lichfield District Council has become one of the first tier-two authorities to pilot a fully open source digital planning service, built on the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities' open planning software components including the Planning and Infrastructure Act data schemas. The council worked with Unboxed Consulting to implement the system, replacing a legacy Idox Uniform installation. Early results show a 30 percent reduction in validation time for householder applications.
