Buckinghamshire Council has completed a phased migration of its planning and development management teams from Microsoft SharePoint to a self-hosted Nextcloud instance, citing annual savings of approximately £180,000. The deployment, managed in partnership with Oxfordshire-based open source integrator Prolinx, includes integration with the council's existing IDOX Uniform planning system. Council digital officers said data sovereignty and reduced SaaS dependency were key drivers behind the decision.
