OpenStreetMap UK has announced a structured six-month campaign to improve building footprint and land use data across English towns with populations under 50,000, partnering with the Royal Town Planning Institute to engage planning professionals as contributors. The initiative will use OSM's new building import toolkit alongside validation workflows developed with Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team volunteers. Pilot areas include Shrewsbury, Taunton, and Hexham.
