A growing number of small and mid-sized UK architectural practices are adopting Blender as a cost-free alternative to Autodesk 3ds Max for BIM-linked visualisation workflows. The open source 3D modelling tool now integrates with IFC file formats via the BlenderBIM add-on, enabling direct import from OpenBIM-compliant models. Firms including Stride Treglown and Curl la Tourelle Head have reportedly incorporated Blender into presentation pipelines alongside Revit-based design stages.
