Global engineering consultancy Arup has open-sourced a suite of structural analysis extensions for OpenSees, the widely used finite element software maintained by the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center. The contributed modules focus on soil-structure interaction modelling for tall timber buildings, an area of growing relevance as UK planning policy encourages mass timber construction. Arup says the release is part of its broader commitment to open engineering science.
