The Environment Agency has partnered with Deltares to enhance its open source flood risk modelling tool, integrating OpenTopoMap elevation data and the Overpass API for real-time OSM feature extraction. The updated tool, based on the Delft-FEWS framework, is now being piloted by seven internal teams ahead of a wider rollout planned for early 2026. All custom integration code will be published under an Apache 2.0 licence.
