Cosla's shared services body has extended its LibreOffice rollout to cover back-office functions in eight additional Scottish councils following a successful two-year pilot in Fife and Stirling. The deployment, managed in partnership with Collabora Productivity, replaces Microsoft 365 for document processing workloads and is expected to save the participating authorities a combined £2.4 million over three years. Training and macro migration support is being delivered through a regionally coordinated programme.
